Beyond Birth Doula
The support you need for your fourth trimester
Bringing your baby home is an amazing, yet intense, moment in your life. Your body is recovering, your hormones are high, and you’re trying to learn your baby’s cues like a language, and your previous routines and rhythms are gone overnight. Your body has experienced a lot of change, whether you have birthed vaginally or by caesarean, the gentle guidance that a maternity nurse and postnatal doula can provide throughout your healing, through rest, help, and nourishment. As a maternity nurse, I can help you understand your baby, and as a postnatal doula, I can bring comfort, advice, and advocacy to help you as a mother, to heal and to ease into the transition of motherhood.
The postnatal period is an emotionally high time, and as a postnatal doula, we can be there not just for the baby, but for you, for your family. We want to have a focus on your unit as a whole, to make sure that you’re not isolated and not just the ‘sole care provider’. Research shows that continuous support of this kind correlates with better outcomes in the realm of a woman’s mental health, which is undoubtedly incredibly important.
This isn’t just about supporting you through baby-care, this is about your wellbeing, your confidence, and you finding your rhythm again. Every woman deserves soft support through these tough yet sweet transitions.

Flexible Support Package
The time in which you come home with a new baby can be full of emotions. You may not have any family nearby, or may not be able to rely on them, which is where I come in to help and support you and the new addition to your family.
Flexible Support Package:
Every new parent needs a different level of support at varying times, and what I am here for is to be flexible. We would have a package that can be spread over a two or more weeks that can be used when you need them the most. For example, you may start with a package of 40 hours and decide to have your doula come for 4 hours a day for the first week as you settle in with the new life with your baby. After the first week, you may have family coming to visit and support you so you only need your doula to come every other day, which after would return to the previous arrangement.
